BillSync is committed to protecting your privacy and securing your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our digital municipal bill management platform.

By using BillSync, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information you provide directly: name, email, phone number, property address, municipal account numbers, bills, payment history, account credentials, and notification preferences.

Information collected automatically: device type, browser, usage patterns, IP address, general geographic location, and cookies used to keep you logged in and analyze performance.

We use your data to: provide and maintain bill management services, connect and sync municipal accounts, send bill notifications and reminders, personalize your experience, analyze platform usage, prevent fraud and security threats, comply with legal obligations, and communicate service updates.

We never train AI models on your uploaded bills or personal data.

We implement industry-standard security: TLS/SSL encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, regular security audits, strict access controls, and employee training on data protection.

No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we continuously invest in raising the bar.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We share data only: with your explicit consent, with municipal authorities to facilitate services, with trusted service providers under strict confidentiality, to comply with legal obligations, to protect our rights or yours, or during a legitimate business transfer.

You can: access the data we hold, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and data (subject to legal retention), export your data, object to specific processing, withdraw consent, and opt-out of marketing.

We use essential cookies to keep the app working, performance cookies to improve it, functionality cookies to remember preferences, and analytics cookies to measure usage.

You can control cookies via your browser — disabling essential cookies may break core features.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with law, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within 90 days — except where legal retention applies.

BillSync is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

If you believe a child has provided us data, email privacy@billsync.co.zw and we'll delete it immediately.

Your data may be processed in countries with different data protection laws.

We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place regardless of where processing occurs.

We may update this policy over time. For material changes, we'll: post the updated version, email you, and display a notice in the app.

The 'Last Updated' date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
